At the Mattapoisett Museum, visitors enjoy engaging history exhibits ranging from Mattapoisett’s shipbuilding roots to the impact of Hurricanes on the community. Inclusive programming includes a monthly Silent Movie Night, Open Mic Night, and Old Time Fiddle Session. The Mattapoisett Museum also hosts lectures led by distinguished scholars and historians that illuminate history through dialogue with the larger community. Researchers from across the country utilize the unique resources in the Francis Rowland Research Room including genealogy and family papers that date back to the 1600s.

The museum is a NARM  participating museum. Through the MA Dept. of Transitional Assistance is is a Card to Culture museum (free admission). It is also a Blue Star Museum  The 2023 Blue Star Museums program begins on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 20, 2023, and ends on Labor Day, Monday, September 4, 2023.
