Fort Phoenix Independence Day Ceremony
Thursday, July 4, 2024, following the July 4th parade
Fort Phoenix, Fort Street, Fairhaven
This patriotic program is held at historical Fort Phoenix to celebrate the founding of our nation. A short presentation will be given by speakers, including a history of Fort Phoenix. There will be a reading of the Declaration of Independence.. The flag will be raised as the National Anthem is sung. Throughout the ceremony there will be musical performances coordinated by the Shepherd Center for the Performing Arts.
Following the flag raising, a cannon salute will be fired over the harbor by the Fairhaven Village Militia, Inc.
