Fort Phoenix Independence Day Ceremony
Tuesday, July 4, 2023, following the July 4th parade
Fort Phoenix, Fort Street, Fairhaven

This patriotic program is held at historical Fort Phoenix to celebrate the founding of our nation. A short presentation will be given by speakers, including a history of Fort Phoenix. There will be a reading of the Declaration of Independence by Leon Correy, Chair of the Select Board. The flag will be raised by John Medeiros as the National Anthem is sung by Fairhaven High School student Lexi Davignon. Throughout the ceremony there will be musical performances coordinated by the Shepherd Center for the Performing Arts.

Following the flag raising, a gun salute will be fired over the harbor by the Fairhaven Village Militia, Inc.
